In a collaborative effort of Kobe and Hokkaido University, the distribution of mackarels in Maizuru Bay, Japan sea, was quantified. To this end, 1 L of sea water was taken from 47 points and analyzed by qPCR, providing a snapshot of fish distribution in these waters.
