The company will begin offering the product via crowdfunding and aims to sell it at retail stores in the future. The company has contracted with Cambodian farmers to buy locally produced crickets and process them into powder and extract. The Jamaican field cricket produced in Cambodia has a relatively strong flavor, but after drying and powdering the crickets, the company uses proprietary technology to hydrolyze the crickets to make them finer and reduce their peculiar flavor. Until now, Jamaican Field Cricket has been sold mainly to companies for use as an additive in food products, but this is the first time for the company to launch its own branded product.
