The film type module 703 cm2 in size has a conversion efficiency of 11.7. It is flexible and lightweight and can be installed in buildings with low load bearing capacity, e. g., on walls. The consortium now aims at 900 cm2 films which are comparable in size to crystalline silicon solar cells. Ultimately, the aim is to realize solar energy generation cost of 7 yen/kWh by 2030.
