Silk elastin is a new material for coating jointly developed by Kyoto University and Sanyo Chemical Industries, and combines two proteins, elastin which is a component of human elastic fibers, and silk fibroin which is a protein of silk It is an artificial protein. They could be produced together in recombinant silkworms. The purpose of this doctor-initiated clinical trial is to use silk elastin processed into a sponge-like material as a covering material. It is assumed that by applying it to the ulcer surface, the silk elastin will dissolve and become a gel like that adheres to the wound surface, thus promoting healing of the wound. Silk elastin is attached to a cover made from an urethane film.
