Nematodes play an important role in plant ecology and can develop into dangerous pests. The project group has developed a MEMS-fabricated microchannel PDMS-device which simulates soil and allows to apply gradients of chemicals. The movements of nematodes (model organism: M. incognita) in these gradients provide information of their behavior in soil, e. g., after fertilization, and how to control their propagation.
