Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim (NBI) and Kyoto University cooperate on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

COPD is a life-threatining lung disease originating mainly from tobacco smoking. The partner at Kyoto University is Professor SATO Atsushi at Kyoto University’s School of Medicine whose research focus is on COPD. Topics of the 2 years cooperative project are in the early diagnosis and a new treatment of COPD. The program is operated by BI’s Research Beyond Borders” (RBB), aiming to build partnerships with research institutions and biotech companies.”
