NEDO conducts successful field test to supply thermal and electric energy by hydrogen only

On April 19th and 20th, hydrogen as a fuel was used as the only fuel to provide 2800 kW of heat to the two facilities of Kobe Port Island central civic hospital, to Port Island sports center, and to Kobe International Exhibition Hall. This included a total of 1100 kW of electricity. The performance of each device and system in actual supply based on hydrogen only operated without problems. Thermoelectric supply by a 1 MW class gas turbine capable of burning hydrogen and natural gas was provided by Obayashi Co. and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. under a NEDO contract.
