Kobe initiates on Port Island demonstration test of a thermoelectric power supply system by hydrogen

In the NEDO project, Obayashi Corporation and Kawasaki Heavy Industries use a system that supplies heat and electricity by hydrogen in an urban area of Kobe neighboring to public facilities such as hospitals and an exhibition center. The 1 MW hydrogen gas turbine power plant (hydrogen cogeneration system (CGS) can be fueled by hydrogen only or by fuel mixed with hydrogen and natural gas at an arbitrary ratio. Combustion stability and operability will be tested, and comprehensively managed from the viewpoint of economy and environment (Integrated EMS).
