Hokkaido University starts clinical trial for stem cell transplantation for patients with acute phase of cerebral infarction

In a first successful surgery, bone marrow stem cells were taken from the iliac bone of the patient shortly after onset of cerebral infarction, and cultured and proliferated cells were administered directly into the brain using special equipment. In addition, cultured blood platelets obtained from healthy volunteers were also transplanted. The target number of cases in this clinical trial is 6 cases.
