Nano-Innovation Laboratories NIL Corp. develop “super nanoparticle” manufacturing technology for functional ingredients in cosmetics

Within a NEDO-supported project, NIL Corporation developed an innovative super nanoparticle (SNP) manufacturing technology that maximizes the effectiveness of functional ingredients. SNP particle size is extremely small, surface area is large, particle size distribution is narrow, dispersion stability is good and highly concentrated dispersions can be prepared. In addition, the surface of the SNPs can be modified. The company develops hair care cosmetic products (SUNA) which show dramatically enhanced permeability of a plant-derived functional ingredient, the polyphenol tara tannin extracted from the bean pods of Caesar pinia spinosa, a native species of Peru, which has remarkable proliferation effect on hair papilla cells and melanin pigment production.
