Contract partner of RIKEN is Masayo TAKAHASHI’s group working on retinal regeneration. The contents of the cooperation are 1. to quantify the culture procedure (know-how / tacit knowledge) of human iPS cells and implement the culture technology on the LabDroid Mahoro”. By doing this, we it is expected to stably cultivate homogeneous and high quality human iPS cells, 2. by combining image analysis and machine learning, a “machine eye” technology will be established which automatically determines the cell state by artificial intelligence. Combining this technology with accurate and precise manipulation techniques of LabDroid ‘Mahoro’, the project aims at a fully automated cultivation of human iPS cell cultures in future.”
