Nagoya team finds microbial solution for rapid, inexpensive treatment of high oil-loaded waste water

The group of Katsutoshi HORI at Nagoya University has developed a microbial consortium which rapidly degrades oils in waste water, e. g., from food plants, and thus greatly improves waste water purification beyond classical procedures such as pressurized air separation. A venture company named Friend Microbe Co. was formed under Katsuhiko NISHIDA, a former director of MBL Laboratories.
