ACTE group establishs 2nd dental pulp cell bank in Tokyo

The company ACTE (Advanced Cell Technology and Engineering Co.) stores dental pulp cells collected from baby and wisdom teeth, with a view to using them for regenerative medicine. The storage fee is 300,000 yen in the initial 10 years, 120,000 yen for the next 10 years, and cell processing cost in case of actually using the stored cells for regenerative medicine. The company collaborates with about 1,500 dental medical institutions throughout Japan. Under cooperation with dozens of dental medical institutions throughout Japan, ACTE also receives decayed teeth and stockpiles dental pulp stem cells for homologous transplantation within a family. It claims to have stocked dental pulp stem cells of human haplotypes consistent with two loci (A, B) of human leukocyte antigens (HLA) covering 76% of all Japanese.
