The equipment was installed in Rotresearch Village Research Facility located in Kansai Science City. In addition to transferring cells cultured with 5 robotic arms to other containers, it performs operations such as separation from reagents and cold preservation consistently. It is said to handle the workload of two to five researchers and reduces manufacturing cost of cells by 30% or more, improving work efficiency. After evaluating the safety of manufactured cells, Rohto will start selling the equpiment for research use from next fiscal year. Rohto aims to put into practical use cell therapy for treating cirrhosis of the liver by administering somatic stem cells having tissue repair functions
