RIKEN group demonstrates antitumor effects of human iPS-NKT cells in mice

The group of Daisuke YAMADA and colleagues at RIKEN’s Life and Medical Sciences Center succeeded to show an anti-tumor effect of natural killer T (NKT) cells derived from human iPS cells in mice. It was shown that the activated NKT cells led to the production of large amounts of interferon-gamma. The finding is considered an important step in realizing cancer immunotherapy using iPS cells.
