Researchers at RIKEN and the University of Tokyo elucidate the structure oft wo adiponectin receptors, relevance for obesity and diabetes research

Using RIKEN’s SPring-8 synchrotron facility, the structures of AdipoR1 and AdipoR2, two human adiponectin receptors, were solved. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the development of new adiponectin receptor agonists that can be used for the treatment of obesity-related diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
