NEDO will support the development of manufacturing biojet fuel from microalgae and wood chips. Verification tests will be conducted on a pilot scale, such as building a culture facility for micro algae of 10,000 m2 scale, and verification tests such as stable long-term continuous operation and reduction of manufacturing cost. Partners are Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Co., Chubu Electric Power Co., Toyo Engineering Corporation, and the Aerospace Exploration Agency. The project period is from FY 2017 to FY 2020, and the fiscal 2017 budget is 660 million yen. Through this technology development, NEDO aims to commercialize biojet fuel production around 2030.
