Demonstration project on underwater inspection utilizing floating robot

In a cooperation of Osaka Prefecture with Asahi Kao Co., supported by NEDO, the company will use a floating robot equipped with various cameras and sensors for underwater inspection. While navigating rivers and dams, this robot will survey riverbed and dam bottoms, creating precise three-dimensional shapes, and acquirie images of underwater management facilities. The aim is to carry out inspection work of river beds and dam bottom which up to now are carried out by humans beings more safely and more precisely using a robot.
