The Japanese AI-startup Adansons https://adansons.co.jp/en/#about and academic partners have developed a haptic system that can be used for skills training but also as a heart rate sharing app.
It works two-way and combines an ultra-thin haptic MEMS device with haptic signal editing technology to measure haptic information. As practical examples based on this, the consortium has developed both an AR skills training system and a heart rate sharing app.
In the future, they plan to develop a skills experience education system for use in manufacturing and provide general-purpose signal processing software. “This will help create a society in which tactile sensations, which have been difficult to pass on across generations, can be easily recorded and shared.”
