Fuji Clean Co. completes Japan’s first dry methane fermentation facility

Based on a NEDO contract, Fuji Clean Co. completed a biomass plant equipped with Japan’s first vertical dry methane fermentation facility in its premises in Ayagawa Town, Kagawa Prefecture. The methane fermentation tank of 3,000 m3 scale uses various waste materials such as household garbage, food residues, livestock manure urine etc, and produces ´heat and electricity. The dry methane fermentation technology (KURITA DRANCO PROCESS®) is based on a vertical type fermenter which does not require a stirrer, thus achieving space and energy saving, and high decomposition speed by high temperature fermentation. A major feature is that it does not require wastewater treatment.
