Organ Technologies Co. starts preclinical phase of human hair follicles from iPS cells

The RIKEN spinout studies regenerative medicine based on autologous follicular glands. It cooperates with Kyocera. The concept is based on the observation that mouse hair follicle epithelial stem cells and mouse dermal papilla cells derived from the beard hair follicles combined in a droplet of collagen transplanted into nude mice developed into grown hair follicles. Nonclinical trials will begin in July 2018, completed in 2018 and followed by clinical research as a kind of regenerative medicine.
