In this project, practicality of ocean current power generation will be tested. It could be utilized as a distributed power source for solitary islands, e. g., in the Kuroshio Sea area, and 18 prefectures are involved in the program. Power generation capacity, equipment durability and economy of the system will be scrutinized. Industrial contractor is IHI.
