MHLW appoints 11 core hospitals for cancer genome medical care

In addition to the Central Hospital (Tokyo · Central) and East Hospital (Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture) selected by the National Cancer Research Center as the core bases, Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, Keio University, Tokyo University, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Okayama University, and Kyushu University Hospitals have been appointed. Genomic medicine examines genes of cancer cells collected from patients in detail. Adjustment to the specific abnormality and choose the most effective treatment is said to be best for next-generation cancer treatment.
