Die Überalterung der japanischen Gesellschaft wird enorme Auswirkungen auf Industrie, medizinische Versorgung, Pflege usw. haben. Ein von der Chiba University durchgeführtes Projekt erlaubt eine Computer-gestützte Vorschau auf die Folgen des Bevölkerungsrückgangs für jede Präfektur bis zum Jahr 2040. Sie soll bereits in den höheren Schulklassen und an den Universitäten dazu benutzt werden, die Jugendlichen auf ihre Lebenswelt im Jahr 2040 einzustimmen und sie in Workshops bei richtungsweisenden Entscheidungen einzubinden. Die Abbildungen zeigen die erwartete Bevölkerungspyramide für das Jahr 2040 und am Beispiel der Stadt Matsudo und der Präfektur Chiba den Rückgang der Arbeitskräfte im Bereich Landwirtschaft und Bau.

Japan’s ageing population will have dramatic consequences…
The ageing of Japanese society will have an enormous impact on industry, agriculture, medical care, etc. A project carried out by Chiba University allows for a computer-based preview of the consequences of demographic decline for each prefecture by 2040, to be used in the upper school classes and universities to prepare young people for their lives in 2040 and to involve them in workshops on policy-making decisions. The figures show the expected population pyramid for 2040 and, using the example of the city of Matsudo and the prefecture of Chiba as an example, the decline in agricultural and construction workers.
