Hitachi Zosen achieves 90 % efficiency in 4000 hrs field test of 20 kW SOFC

The test at Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology provided 50 % energy and 40 % heat recovery efficiency. The 2.2 × 4.3 × 2.8 m size fuel cell uses hydrogen obtained by reforming city gas containing methane as a main fuel component. It is seen as power generation equipment for food supermarkets, convenience stores, office buildings, apartment buildings, etc. and will be introduced into the market in FY 2017. The device was developed in cooperation with NEDO and the H2Osaka Vision” program for a modernized energy supply based on hydrogen.”
