Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna share Japan Prize 2017 for their studies on the CRISPR-Cas system’s genome editing mechanism

Charpentier is working at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, Berlin, and Jennifer Doudna at the University of Clifornia in Berkeley. The prize money is 420,000 US-$.
