In the 10 billion Yen project (2016 – 2021), innovative multi-scale simulation techniques will be developed to estimate the functions of materials from their structure and composition. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be used to arrive at precise predictions. Apart from METI’s AIST, Konica Minolta, Tosoh, Murata Manufacturing, Panasonic, Nippon Steel, Sumitomo Metals, Hitachi Chemical, DIC Corporation, Toray Industries, Kaneka, Sekisui Plastics, Idemitsu Kosan, JSR, Showa Denko, Nippon Shokubai, Yokohama Rubber, Ube Industries and others will participate.
