Ajinomoto and Nippon Rika form joint venture on cysteine production

The JV J-Cysteine” is located in Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture, with Nipponrika as a majority owner (51%). The recombinant production strain is derived from Pantoea ananatis, an enterobacteriaceae, and carries no antibiotic resistance. It was cleared by the Food Safety Commission of MHLW.”
