The team of Hiroyuki ISOBE in Sendai (ERATO Degenerate Pi Integration Project) succeeded to realize a one-pot synthesis of macrocyclic toluene (5Me- [5] CMP) which allows for quantitative electro-optical conversion in a single-layer architecture.
