First stem-cell based retinal transplant patient in Kobe after 1 year without problems

Based on investigations by the Kobe Advanced Medical Center Hospital, the patient who recived the first sheet transplantation of autologous iPS cell-derived retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) for wet age-related macular degeneration in September 2014 did show improved vision. There were no signs of abnormalities or tumorgenesis.
