Fujifilm claims anti-wrinkle effect of ingested astaxanthin

In mouse experiments, Fujifilm, in cooperation with a group at Kyoto University, showed that UVA irradiation of the skin did not lead to wrinkles if 40 mg of astaxanthin per day was added to the feed. The effect is believed to be due to suppression of transepidermal water loss and might be additional to ceramide.
