RIKEN group achieves spermatogenesis in cultured neonatal mouse testes after cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen

The group around Takehiko OGAWA at the RIKEN Bioresource Center has succeeded to grow out cryopreserved testicular tissue of newborn mice which did not start spermatogenesis and sperm production in organ culture after thawing. The ICSI using sperm and sperm cells obtained, it was possible to acquire a healthy offspring. After injecting directly into the egg by a sperm glass needle (ICSI), healthy offspring was obtained.
