NARO Institute for Biological Sciences develops ultrasound-based procedure for plant protection

By applying ultrasonic waves (intermittent ultrasound of 40kHz) to tomato and rice seedlings, it was possible to suppress tomato wilt and rice blast. The method is now being tested fort the protection of strawberries (powdery mildew) and other plant diseases
