In the framework of a large public-private NEDO program on life-supporting robots for personal care, aiming at products needed for an aging society, draft standards were issued (ISO13482 version 1) on February 1 and proposed for international standardization. Company members of the consortium are Panasonic, Honda, Toyota and others. Cyberdyne’s walking support robot, also part of the program, was recently tested at a hospital in Bochum, Germany.
