It was founded in 1923 and merged, in 2002, with Nippon Roche Co., thus becoming a member of the Roche group. In this process, Chugai transferred all shares of Chugai Diagnostics Science Co. to Fujirebio Inc. Chugai Pharmaceuticals, by the end of 2010, had a stated capital of ~ 73 billion Yen (~ 649 million €) and 6.709 employees (consolidated). Revenues in 2010 were ~ 380 billion Yen (~ 3,38 billion €). President and CEO is Mr Osamu NAGAYAMA.
